Children in Hot weather

Children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of the sun, that is why as a mother I do make sure that my child is protected every time I took her out on a sunny day.

Here are some tips for parents on what to do with your children on a hot weather:

For babies under 6 months - Keep babies under six months out of the sun altogether, as their skin is thinner and they may not able to produce enough of pigments called melanin to protect them from sunburn.

Older children - Should also be protected by either covering them up or with a high protection sun screen lotion.

Important information: Children with fair, red hair, blue eyes and freckles are said to be specially at risk to the sun, as the paler skin, the less melanin is produced and more likely the child will easily get burnt in the sun.
