Cleaning a FurReal friend toy

If your child got a toy like this, here is a simple way on cleaning this type of toy. Since these toys are furry, gently brush the fur with a cloth or soft brush to loosen any dirt. Then use a slightly damp cloth to remove stains.

• Do not put it on the washing machine.
• Do not submerge in water.
• Do not use detergent or stain removers on fur.
• Do not get wet, to remove the stains , use only a slightly damp cloth on the fur.
• To prevent staining fur, wipe off the dirt immediately.
• If the toy gets wet, remove the batteries and dry the fur, and once the fur is dry, replace the batteries.
• Tell your child to avoid spilling food or beverage on thee toy.
• Tell your child not to throw the toy or kick and not to push sharp objects through the speaker openings.
• Do not leave the toy on direct sunlight as high temperatures will destroy the mechanism.

Good Luck!

Holiday Travel Checklist

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of My Travel Checklist for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Making sure that you do not leave anything behind and have set everything before leaving on a holiday is what a travel checklist is for and with this new technology era, you do not need to write everything on 2 or 3 sheets of paper or surf on the internet looking for tips on what to bring and what to remember before going on a holiday. On these days, you can make use of widgets! Widgets are commonly used now a day as these are very accessible on mobile phones as well as on the computer. Widgets are very easy to use; in fact I have here a Travel Widget from Mondial Assistance which you can try for free, just to see how you get on with it. Tell you, it is easy to use and since I have tried it myself, I can assure you that this widget and website is safe to use!

There are 2 things on how you can try the My Travel Checklist, you can either download the widget or just try it on their website by clicking the box called access my travel checklist, located below the video tutorial.  Then you can start making your very own custom packing list by answering the questions provided and adding up some details or items at the end of each checklist category. You can save it, modify later, send it on an email or print it once you are done and have it on hand ready for checking procedures. Anyway, like I said this widget is safe to use and free of charge, so you might try it as well!

Below is a sample photo of my travel Checklist Widget. I have taken this when I tried the said widget and find it fun and very easy to use.

Presents for a 4 year old girl

These are some of the presents my little Chloe got on her 4th Birthday and I would recommend these to all little girls who are just about her age.

1. Peppa Pig Fun Phonics- My little girl loves Peppa pig and with this, she can play and learn with Peppa, with its Fun Phonics module. There are twenty six light-up keys with letters, pictures and numbers to help your little one get to grips with sounds, phonics, spelling, colours, letters and numbers. Use the pointer at the top to change the activity and let the fun and learning start. For ease of play there is a handy repeat button. One of the cleaver things about this is that this activity is all in one piece so there are no parts to be lost, which would make it suitable for children as young as 3.

2. Piggy bank- This would encourage children to save up, but I would say from 4 years and above. It is a very traditional way of saving money.

3. Bike- Good for keeping kids fit and active.

4. Mini Market till toy- This is an electronic toy till with calculator, would help a child learn as she plays. She can sell stuff and gives change just like a real shopkeeper.

5. Little sing along microphone or a small karaoke machine- For every little girl who loves to sing. From 3 years old and above.

ING Direct Savings Widget: Find Out The Average Household Savings in UK

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of ING Direct for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am sure that you have heard about ING Direct but have you heard about the good benefits you will enjoy if you join in with ING Direct Savings Account? Well, I am not an expert on this but I joined in recently and found some wonderful benefits on ING Savings Accounts. First, it only takes 10 minutes or so to open an account and unbelievably you can open one for £1. Second, it gives an easy access to your money which includes bonuses, no charges withdrawals, no minimum and maximum monthly deposits and many more. Third, it has an excellent customer service and finally the fourth one is that the website is safe and secure. I would say that this savings account is a big help for people like me who wants to save despite the current economic situation. Now I do not want to discuss further with what is happening  with the current economic state, so here is another interesting thing from ING Direct.

The ING Direct Widget:

I have attached with this post a cleaver widget from ING Direct Savings. This will help you find out and compare the average household saving levels for each region/county.  Using this widget is so easy, no need to download, just click on your region/county, this will then show you the average saving total of your region/county. If you want to compare it with other regions, you can do it by clicking the add box to add it on a table on the left corner of the widget and make your very own comparison table. Good Luck!

Disney Toy Story Talking Slinky Dog

Got this talking slinky dog for my daughters 4th birthday at Disney shop for £20 and she loves it! The toy is made out of though plastic with a spring metal body with wheels under his paws and a sting in between the eyes for pulling along. It came with a battery already installed in and the toy has 10 phases from the film, like the barking sound, “I know you were right all along”, and the phrase “I love being a toy”, so far these is the only phrase I can remember, and there are several more!

The toy looks like the exact size from the film as Andy’s Slinky Dog, the Height is 17cm, length 27cm when un-stretched and the metal spring body got a string inside that would also stretched to a certain length and goes back to the normal size. It does not tangle although the metal spring does show a little sign of being stretched in just a 5 days of being played with, but overall it is a good toy. My little Chloe does plays with it a lot and happy with her springy dog, so I would say this toy is worth the money and would recommend it to any toy story fan out there.

Babies first teeth

When is the time when babies get their first teeth? My little Chloe had her first teeth at around 6 months, but some varies as I do know a baby that does not have a tooth until he is 1 year old and according to the doctor this is still normal. For most babies that I have seen, the first tooth would usually grown on the front at the bottom and by two and a half years old most of them have their primary teeth already.

Teaching your child the alphabet

This is just a tip on how to teach your child the alphabet and help him or her memorize the letters from A to Z.

• Make the alphabet song a lullaby to your child when he or she is going to sleep.
You will soon notice that your child will be able to memorize the song and will sing it with you in a week or two.

• Buy an alphabet poster and tape or post it where your child can easily see it every day. Then sing the alphabet song to your child and point to these letters while singing.

• Once your child memorizes the alphabetical order, you can make some test by making it a fun game for him/her. Cover one letter on the poster with your hand and let your child guess, which letter it is. Cheer every time he/she gets the right answer.

Blinds or curtains

Blinds and curtains both have the same purpose, and that is to give people inside the house a bit of privacy, although some might want it for security reasons as well. For whatever purpose, did you know that this is probably one common thing a couple would argue when moving into a new home? Like most couples, my husband and I have been to the same situation. The problem is, I like having curtains and my husband prefers blinds, and we both do not like having them both (blinds and curtains together in a window), so we ended-up not having anything covering the window for a week until my husband’s mother came over and handed me a set of curtain to try it on our main living room window. Guess what? It looks great!

She told me, she got it from Brylane home and I cannot believe how affordable it is there! An elegant one rod curtain set which includes 2 panels with a valance attached on it and 2 tie backs for $24.99. Mom has actually convince my husband to get curtains instead of blinds, so my husband and I have decided to keep what is already on one window (the one mom gave) and have ordered more from Brylane Home curtains, we a got a free shipping and discount too, so my husband is happy with that as well!
I have here the picture of the 5 piece curtain set which my husband and I ordered, currently on sale for just $24.99.

FYI: Brylane Home curtains are now on sale and unbelievably you can get one for as low as $5.99.

Checking out which toy is safe for your child

Starting to shop for Christmas presents? Well, if you plan to give toys for children it is always best to check if the toy is safe for children of such age and check out these guides:

• It is best to buy toys that carry the standards of your country. It usually carries a symbol like, CE, Lion mark or kite mark.

• Take care if you buy toys from car boot sale, market stalls or second hand toys as these may not confirmed to safety standards and could be dangerous.

• Take safety measures such as ‘not suitable for under 36 months’ seriously (0-3 sign). This sign warns that the toy is unsuitable for a child under three because of small parts.

• Check that the toy has no sharp edges that could hurt a child, small parts that a child could put in his or her mouth and choke on.

Hope this helps and have fun shopping!

Divorce - Seek help as you are not alone

My cousin in Ontario recently got divorced after 2 years of waiting for the papers to be legalized. Well on her case it is a bit complicated as they have 2 children involved, and her husband demanded to get the custody of both children. It was not an easy task for her that time as she has also been on emotional stress, however, me and some other relatives were always there for her and with the help of a Family lawyer barrie she has got the full custody of her children. Let me just clear this that I am not an expert on this matter, but I have here some information which might help if you are in the same situation. I have been with my cousin helping her with whatever support she needed throughout the legal process and this are just some of the important things I can remember that needs to be sort out.

• Child custody and child support- if you got children.
• Property- includes housing, valuables and any other possession.
• Money

Like I said, this is not an easy task, and you might need all the support you can get from your close friends and family, so do not be ashamed to talk to them about your problems. Also, I suggest that you get a good legal advice from certified divorce lawyer and I wish you all the best!

Recommended Plus size Boots

I am a plus size and the perfect way to shop for plus size clothing and shoes for me is to go online! Now I do not have a preferred online shop but for this season I found some really good bargains at Jessica London’s website. The Plus size clothing and shoes are lovely and mostly at a discounted rate, like this Comfort view 'Rush' leather boots from their plus size shoes and boots collection which is now about 40% off the original price, a bargain for a real leather boots!

Now, I do not have this yet as I am still waiting at my order, however my sister already got her pair of boots and I absolutely love it! She does too and said it is very comfortable and that she could wear it every day for hours when she is in school. What I like about boots are that aside from being real leather, the height of the boots are just perfect that I can picture myself wearing it with either skirts or jeans. It can be worn for any occasions especially on the cooler days ahead and believe me, it does look stunning! Anyway, I have attached here a photo of the said boots, just to let you see how beautiful it is.

Keeping toddlers busy

One good way of keeping toddlers busy is making playtime fun for them; at the same time, make sure they are learning while playing, so here are some of the things you can try to make playtime fun for them while in the house.

• Play dough - My little girl loves playing with this, and it takes her about 30 minutes to 1 hour busy creating different things with the dough.

• Junk modeling- you can collect all sorts of cardboard boxes, cartons, yogurt pots, milk bottle tops, and tissue paper cardboard tubes, and give these to your little one with a sticky tape or glue, so he or she can create something out of that! You can set an example by making a robot out of these boxes, or make binoculars out of the tubes from tissue paper rolls.

• Pretend cooking- Use a bowl and spoons for measuring out and mixing small quantities of real ingredients (flour, rice, sugar, custard powder and put out in egg cups or bowls. Use water to mix.

• Dressing Up- you can collect old bags, gloves, scarves, nighties, length of materials, tea towels, old curtains. Take care that these clothes do not contain loose cords, strings, or ribbons that could wrap around their neck and cause strangulation. Paper plates or a cut up cereal pockets make good mask! All you have to do is cut slits for the eyes and tie on with a rubber string.

• Drawing and painting- Use crayons, felt tips, powder paint. Add washing up liquid and water to powder paint for a thicker paint. You can use old envelopes slit open and the inside the cereal pockets for paper.

These would surely give your child a lot of fun!

Taking your baby out in cold weather

It is now autumn and when taking your baby out and about, it is important that you make sure your baby is wrapped up warm because babies do chill easily and could easily catch a cold too! Depending on how cold it is, make sure your baby wears a cardigan or a coat. You could also bring a blanket, which will come handy when your baby is asleep in a pushchair or pram. Also, do remember to take some clothing off when you get into a warm place so that your baby doesn’t then overheat, even he or she is asleep.

Recommended family no contract mobile phone

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TracFone. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have to be honest that budgeting is the main reason why my family has switch to TracFone! My husband and I have been on contract mobile for about 6 years and our daughter is on pay as you go, however due to the recession I have been off work and one of the billing that has to be cut down is the mobile phone, so we decided to joined this TraFone no contract, no credit checks, no activation charges or cancellation fees mobile phone called TracFone and it was one of the best decision we made this year! I was really surprised that it cost half the price as what we used to pay on a contract and my daughter love the fact that she got a lot of free txt and calls to get in touch with her friends, not to mention the lovely LG100c candy bar mobile phone she got, was so worth it! Anyway, they got some other choices of mobile phones, and it is all from leading manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung, Kyocera, LG and Motorola. I was actually surprised that their mobile phones are very affordable yet they got So many features like camera/video recorder, web access, app capabilities, mp3 player, and full QWERTY keyboard, and believe me you could get one for $29.99! Well if you want simple phones, like my husband, you could get a phone with simple needs, calling and texting capabilities for under $10.00. The cleaver thing about TracFone is that with their monthly plans, you can pay as you go online or with cards available at thousands of retail stores across the country. They also got a 1 year service cars, which is what me and my family is using, and I think it gives us much more because I am receiving double minutes for the life of my TracFone, and 800 minutes for only $119 without any hidden charges!

I would personally recommend TracFone if you wish to save on mobile phone expenses and I never had a problem with reception and coverage! Well, you can watch this video of Real TracFone customers and tell me what you think? All the best!

Looking for sugars on the labels

It is important that you should look at the labels first before buying such food as this can increase the chances of having Diabetes in the family and can also cause tooth decay on your child's teeth.
I have here some information on how to spot sugars on the labels; all you have to do it look out for these:

• The following are sugars- glucose, dextrose, maltose, fructose, hydrolysed starch.

• Invert sugar or syrup, honey, raw sugar, brown sugar, muscavado, and concentrated fruit juices are all sugars.

• Fruit juices too contain sugars, which can cause decay, so always dilute this with a lot of water and keep to mealtime.

• Maltrodextrin by the way is not sugar but can cause decay.

Tips on Using TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TRESemmé. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have been using TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo for over a year now and I love the fact that this product works brilliant on my hair! I do not use it on daily basis as I do shower frequently, however I always got this on my room as I find it very useful on odd times when I need to freshen up my hair quickly before going out on a rush, meeting friends or relatives. A total look saver! However just a piece of advice, always remember to follow instructions to get the best result! If you want you can try it using these easy steps, just a sort of tips.

Here is how to do it:

•             Shake the can really well before use

•             Lift a section of your hair and spray lightly right on your scalp or roots of your hair

•             Then spray in short burst, holding 8-12 inches from your head ( do not spray it all over your head like a hairspray as you will end looking like you got a talc powder on your head)

•             Leave it for 1-2 minutes

•             Then work it up using your fingertips to brush and distribute the product evenly and style your hair.

If clogging occurs, all you have to do is remove the nozzle and rinse the nozzle under warm water and reattach after.  Then, it should work properly!

Just to give you an idea of what TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo is, if you have not use this before. This shampoo is uniquely formulated which removes greasiness and odor to your hair. I think one main ingredient use is a citrus extract which explains the lovely clean smell. It instantly cools the head and it is like having a hair wash without using a drop of water. Perfect when you are in a rush! Probably the why it is the Top Hair Products for School, it really is great!

I prefer to use TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo as it works really well with my long wavy hair but there are some other choices to choose from and you might as well check these out too:

•             Strengthening Dry Shampoo: The formula, with B12 vitamins and keratin, helps strengthen hair and leaves it full of healthy body.

•             Volumizing Dry Shampoo: The formula, with mineral clay and citrus, removes oil while injecting hair with salon-gorgeous volume.

•             Smoothing Dry Shampoo: The formula, with Vitamin H & Silk Proteins, refreshes your straight style by removing excess oil, impurities and odor to ensure your smooth look lasts.

•             Moisturizing Waterless Foam Shampoo: The formula, with Witch Hazel, Citrus, and Aloe Vera, refreshes your hair by removing excess oil, impurities and odor while moisturizing hair.

Do I need to put salt on my child's food

Do I need to put salt on my child’s food? I also ask the same question onto my baby’s health visitor and she answered no. There is no need to add salt or sodium chloride to your child’s food because there is enough naturally present in foods. What happens when a child has too much salt intake? When you begin to give salty foods to your child this will then lead to a liking for salty foods and contribute towards high blood pressure in later life.

The FSA suggests babies under six months old should have less than 1 gram of salt a day and those aged seven to 12 months one gram a day. But since salt is already present in our daily food, even in milk, it is so hard to know how much has our child has eaten in a day, so it is just best to avoid it if possible.

Actually, the whole family will benefit if you gradually reduce the amount of salt in your cooking. Also you should keep salt off the table and limit the amount of salty food like crisp, savoury snacks, and some mixes that your child has.

Mumps do spread

Some mothers do not know but yes, mumps does spread easily. I remember on my little girl’s 2nd birthday a little girl arrived with mumps, so I ask the mother politely to leave the party with her child as there are many children at the party that could get the said virus from her daughter. Her daughter no longer have the fever, but the swollen jaw is still visible so I think it is still not safe for her to be with other children.

Anyway is some information about mumps, I learned some of this from the nurse who gave my little girl the MMR shots and some from the National health services website.

Mumps is an airborne virus which can lead to fever, headache, and painful, swollen glands in the face, neck and jaws. It can result in permanent deafness, viral meningitis (swelling of the lining of the brain) and encephalitis. Rarely this can also cause painful swelling of the testicles in males and the ovaries in females. This said virus usually last about 7 to 10 days.

Now how does this virus spread?
Mumps is an airborne virus and can be spread by:
• an infected person coughing or sneezing and releasing tiny droplets of contaminated saliva, which can then be breathed in by another person
• an infected person touching their nose or mouth, then transferring the virus onto an object, such as a door handle, or work surface; if someone else then touches the object shortly afterwards, they can transfer the virus into their respiratory tract
• sharing utensils, such as cups, cutlery or plates with an infected person

So if you think you or your child is infected with mumps, do see a doctor, so you’ll be given the proper treatment.

Children’s safety on roads

As a parent, I think it very important that we should set as a good example to our children when it comes to road and traffic awareness. Explain to them what traffic is all about, traffic light colours, stop and looking both ways before crossing the road. Anyway, I have here a few very good tips for parents with regards to safety on roads with children.

• Never let a child on or near the roads alone, as young children do not understand the dangers of traffic.
• Hold your child’s hand when you’re near roads. When you’re with a toddler, a walking rein would be very useful.
• Look out for and encourage your child to be aware of hidden entrances or driveways crossing the pavement.
• Teach your child to cross roads safely by always crossing safely yourself and explaining what you’re doing, but do not expect any child under the age of eight to cross a road alone.

These are just a few helpful tips and there are a lot you can get from a government agency website on road safety for children under 7 years of age.

Tips on managing an over active child

A child suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is what they call over active child or hyperactive child. Now hyperactivity may require treatment but here are some very good tips I got from my sister who has a hyper active child. Here are those tips you may try:

• Keep to a daily routine as much as you can. This can be important if your child is restless or difficult and could help you stay calmer and stand up better to the strain.
• Make giving your child time and attention a part of the routine. In different ways your child may be demanding your attention most of the day, if not most of the night as well. Make a certain time each day to give your child all your attention.
• Avoid difficult situation as much as you can. Example, keeping shopping trips short.
• Try to get out every day to a place where your child can run around and really let go.
• Avoid giving your child cola drinks, tea and coffee, as these drinks all contains caffeine.

Now these are just tips in helping you manage your child’s over active behaviour, however if these do not help, I would suggest that you talk to a doctor as your child may require some treatment.

Safety Razors Shaving Tips

My husband (Chloe’s dad) shaves almost every day and he had a somewhat routine when doing it, he usually shave his face after a shower, in the sink, with all those creams and hydration techniques to avoid razor burns. Well, in 5 years being with him, I think I only saw him with razor burns once and that has something to do with the new crappy razors I got for him. Anyway, I think he has a good shaving routine, so I ask him if I could share his shaving tips here on my blog and he said yes, so here it is!

1. Hydrate your skin by having a shower and using a shower gel to take away all the oil, dirt and dead skin cells on your face.

2. If you are in a rash and do not have time to shower, you can hydrate your skin by washing it with warm water and a body wash for at least 2 to 3 minutes.

3. Then apply a shaving cream or a gel in a circular motion on your face where you want to shave.

4. Using a safety razor, only shave in direction of the hair growth and on a slow light stroke. It is important that you do not put too much pressure on your skin as this would create irritation on your skin.

5. Apply a shaving cream again if you wish to shave your face the second time.

6. At the end of every shave, always rinse your razor and take out excess water and store in a cool and dry place.

7. Rinse your face with cool and dry water and gently pat dry your face with a face towel.

8. Lastly use an after shave to cool and moisturize your skin.

These steps might look a bit long, but honestly it only take about 3 to 5 minutes to get it all done and you will soon get the hang of it!

Disclaimer: I am participating in a blogger campaign called The Art of Shaving from Bucks2Blog and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.

Preventing Diaper Rash

This is probably the most common rash you will find in babies and toddlers, especially around the age of 18 months. Research says it is cause by skin being in prolonged contact with ammonia from urine or bacteria from stools burning or irritating the skin, which may then break open. But in some cases, the causes would be due to sensitive skin, rubbing or chaffing, strong soap, detergent or bubble bath, baby wipes, diarrhoea or illness, changes in diet such us weaning or due to changing from beast to formula milk.

I have been doing a lot of research before and found some useful information on preventing diaper rash on my little one. These are the things that will help prevent diaper or nappy rash on babies:

By changing the diaper as soon as you can when it becomes wet or soiled. By cleaning the whole diaper area thoroughly. Wipe the baby from front to back. Use a mild soap with plain water or a gentle baby wipes. Make sure that you rinse the soap and pat dry before placing a new baby diaper on your baby. It is also best to lay your baby in a towel and leave the diaper off for as long and as often as you can to let fresh air get to the skin.

Sometime rashes can lead into infection, so it is somehow important that you should keep your baby dry and clean at all time.

Simple advice on buying shoes and boots for toddlers

These are just some of the things I always do when buying a pair of shoes or boots for my little girl. Now, I am aware that children’s feet grow very fast and it is important that the bones grow straight, so here are some of those things to look out when buying footwear for toddlers.

• Buy footwear that is made of natural materials, example: Leather, cotton, or canvas as these materials breathe. What I understand plastic shoe is that they are not really advisable for toddlers as plastic shoes or boots make feet perspire and can cause fungal infections and abrasions.

• When buying it from a shop, have your child’s feet measured for each new pair of shoes. What I know is that a child under 4 years of age should have their feet measured every 6-8 weeks.

• When buying over the internet, I have here a measurement guide, got this from the online shop where I usually get my little girl’s footwear. I also use a tape measure to measure her feet and look it up on this guide.

• Lastly, it is best not to keep shoes for the best, as your child may outgrow these without proper wear.

Straight Talk's Amazing Mobile Phone Deal

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

If you think you are saving with your mobile plan today, well think again! I have just recently spoken with a group of mom’s about mobile phone deals and the best one that I heard so far was this Straight talk no contract mobile phone plan. It has got everything you need just like when you are on a contract plan! Two of them got this Straight Talk “All You Need Plan”. For $30 a month, they told me it has 1,000 minutes worth of calls and 1,000 minutes text messages and 30MB free web data, which is not bad for a monthly allocation. I was very keen on this so when I got home today I had a look at the website and saw an even amazing deal from Straight Talk, an unlimited service for just $45 a month. Unlimited calls, txt and internet, which means you not only call a friend but you can call all your friends with your unlimited calls!

This is actually the cheapest unlimited plan I have seen and the phones are not bad too! Load of choices from trusted brands such as Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, LG and Kyocera. Most of them are smart phones and some are touch screen phones which already got features like camera, video recording, music player, navigation system, blue-tooth, and wifi connection. I was even surprised to see a phone there for $10! It is however reconditioned, but I thought of getting one for my daughter. Told her about it, she smiled and said “Can I have the unlimited one? So I replied “mom knows best, you can have the All You Need Plan of $30 a month! Still, she is very excited about it.

I have here a testimonial video of Straight Talk real customers, I got this from YouTube and I think this will give you an idea of what you to expect if you switch to Straight Talk.

Children waking up during the night

They say that half of all children under 5 go through periods of waking up at night. Some would go back to sleep on their own and others will cry. My little one cries every time she wakes up at night and that keeps happening most of the night until she is 2 years of age. Well, that is when I figure out what was the reason why she keeps waking up. There are two reasons why she keeps waking up at night and one of those is that she is hungry. What I did is make sure she has eaten something before she goes to sleep, a cereal or sometimes if she refuse to eat, I would give her a warm milk to keep her full until the morning. During the winter, she does it again, but not because she is hungry, but because she is cold so I make sure she wears long sleeve pyjamas with sock on and that solves the problem! Hope this helps.

Herbal Mood Enhancer

If you are looking for ways to enhance your mood, or if you suffer from depression or mood disorder due to stress and anxiety, then you might want to check out this herbal mood enhancer products from Herbal City LLC. I am actually writing about this since I suffer from postnatal depression and I prefer to drink only Herbal products.

I have not tried this yet, but a friend of mine has said this does work with her depression problem, so I am looking into trying one of this. Now, I have been to the website where my friend got her herbal mood enhancer and saw that this are what people use when they are partying, clubbing, or when they are performing, for those who works in the music and acting industry.

To be honest I was a little concerned about this as far as what the contents are in the herbs, but they do have a certificate on their website saying that the products are 100% legal, and lab tested that there are no illegal chemicals on it that would harm a person using it. So I guess that should be alright for me. Anyway, you are welcome to check their website and check their products if it would suit your needs at Herbal City Party enhancers.

Signs of postnatal depression

Most of new mothers feel low occasionally and lack of sleep, stress, and maybe the strain of balancing paid work and parenting, and money problems, all contribute to making early stages of parenthood difficult. I had the same feeling when I had my baby and had to see a doctor because I was not sure of what I am feeling at that moment, but luckily I just had the baby blues which sort of the same feeling as a depression but would just disappear in a couple of months. The doctor told me that, a person who suffers from depression will feel all, or some, of these things:

• Tired, but can’t sleep
• No appetite or are overeating
• No interest in yourself
• No interest in your baby
• The smallest chores are almost impossible to manage
• Never stop crying

So, if you think you are suffering from depression or you noticed that there is something wrong with how you feel, it is important to see a doctor and talk about it. Believe me, it does help to talk to someone who knows and could understand what you are going through.

Dealfun the New Auction Website

I recently came across this new auction website called dealfun.com and this really sounds interesting! The website is an auction site but there is also a buy it now price for people who wish to purchase the item straight away, without waiting for the auction to end. I have noticed that all items listed on the auction of this website are brand new, sealed and comes with a manufacturer guarantee.

Now, I have not won anything yet neither has started bidding but I have read a lot of people winning from this website and it looks like a good way o get a really good bargain! On my observation products like iPad 2 16GB with wifi would only go through the hammer on their auction for as low as £86.05 and a Acer Aspire 10.1 inch notebook for only £22.21 and a lot more electronic products like LED TV’s, iPhone, and PS3’s. There are also items like Watches, Jewelleries, and toys for such a low price.

Reviews of this website are good too when it comes to customer service and has said to be prompt and courteous! This has no weekly or monthly win cap and it has this win guarantee thing that if you do not win in the first 24 hours, all bids are rest. It also has a beginner’s auction for starters like me, which is now what I am looking at as of the moment. For further information, I suggest that you check out the website or check out what yahoo finance news has to say about the exciting twist on online shopping at Deal Fun.

What to do if your child is burnt or scalding

I got this from a book of emergency first aid that was given to me a long time ago from a health clinic and I think as a parent we should know something about first aid and what to do in case of emergencies. Now here is what to do in case you find your child screaming out of pain from a burn or scald.

• Immediately put the burn or scald under a running cold water to reduce the heat in the skin.
Do this for at least 10 minutes. If the running water is not available, immerse the burn or scald in the cold water or any cooling fluid, such as milk or other cold drinks can be used.

• Cover the burn or scald with a clean, non-fluffy cloth like a clean cotton pillow case or linen tea towel or cling film. This cuts down the danger of infection.

• If clothes are stuck to the skin, don’t try to take them off.

• Depending on the severity of the burn or scald, see your doctor or call an ambulance or take your child to the hospital. You should seek medical help for anything other than a very small burn.

• Do not put butter, oil or ointment on a burn or scald. It only has to be clean off again before treatment can be given.

• Don’t prick any blister. You’ll delay healing and let the germs in.

6 Tips for New Vet Techs

Congratulations on completing your Veterinary Tech program. Hopefully you have passed the board exam and you are now set to be employed in a position that has a fantastic job growth outlook. Now it is time to get out into the work place and start doing what you have dreamed of. Here are some pointers for new Vet Techs:

6 Tips for New Vet Techs

1. Become a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America. https://navta.net . For Vet Tech students it costs $25 per year and for Vet Techs, Assistants, and Veterinarians it costs $50 per year. It allows you to network with your peers and offers continuing education for those wanting to keep up-to-date on the latest information. There are other organizations out there, but this one is a good start.
2. Keep your mind open. Just because your schooling has ended does not mean there is no more to learn. What you learned in the class room was theory, now you have to learn how to put it in to practice. Also, any career in a medical profession, human or animal, is ever changing. You will learn new information concerning your job on a daily basis.
3. Don’t limit yourself to the vet office. There are a number of different positions that you can be hired for as a Vet Tech. There are research facilities, Colleges and Universities, and rescue facilities. Think about what you really want out of your career as a Vet Tech and make a plan to have it be a rewarding one. There are many different ways to help animals.
4. When you have started your new job as a Vet Tech, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Nobody expects you to know exactly what you are doing but you need to make sure you are doing your part to learn the right way to do things at your new job.
5. Take notes. When you are asking for help, write down any information you get to reference if the question arises again. Writing it down makes it appear that what this person is telling you is very important, which it may be. Also, if you have to ask the same questions over and over again you will appear to not really care what your coworkers are trying to teach you.
6. Enjoy your new career! You have worked very hard to make it to this point in your life. An employee who enjoys their job will have a very rewarding career and work to advance their knowledge to become the most they can be. Employers like to see this kind of attitude, they hope it spreads through the whole staff.

L. Lubel is extremely interested in veterinarian medicine and offering information for students who want to become veterinarian technicians.

Switching from bottles to cups

My little girl is now 3 ½ years old and has just got off the habit of drinking milk from a baby milk bottle. She had been using a lidded feeding cup from around 7 month’s drinking water and juices with it but she refuses to drink milk on it. When she gets to 2 years of age, she started to drink water and juices on the cup without a lid, but still refuse to drink the milk on it. So practically at this age my toddler is still drinking toddler’s formula milk, but she does take cow’s milk on a cereal.

Recently I noticed that she likes drinking little cartoon juices with straws on it, so it had given me an idea to use colourful bendy straws on a cup of milk for her to a least try to sip it. She is now 3 ½ years old and has been eating well, so I have totally decided to give her cow’s milk instead of formula milk and that she should be drinking it on a cup.

So got her a box of colourful bendy straws and the next day when she asks for milk, I told her I forgot to buy her usual milk, but there is a cow’s milk on the refrigerator and it is just the same as her usual milk, the only thing is that cow’s milk should be on a cup. Showed her the straws and she liked it! She had a sip on it, but did not drink it all. It took her 3 days to get used to it and now, she is really drinking cow’s milk on a cup, with a straw. Over all, I am happy with this development and I am now thinking of a next move, and that is to totally let her drink from a cup without straws!

Cheap no contract business mobile phone plan from NET10

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Net10. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was browsing online looking for a good deal business phone and I found this NET10 and its very interesting phone package. I am not sure if you already knew this but this NET10 unlimited plan sound like a really good deal! Well here is what I found out, with their unlimited plan of $50 a month, you will get an unlimited text, unlimited calls, internet surfing, emails, 411, nationwide coverage and not to mention the excellent reception you will get when you are on the phone.

Well, that was one of my friend’s feedbacks about the NET10 line connectivity reception, although she only uses her phone for personal use, she was very pleased with it! She had a Full QWERTY keyboard mobile but there is a lot of choices if you do not like one of these Qwerty mobile phone and they are all from a trusted mobile phone company like Samsung, Nokia, LG and Motorola. I noticed she uses a lot of mobile internet on it, mainly for facebook and twitter and it has a good mobile internet speed, which has given me a brilliant idea that this is very suitable for my husband as a business phone, as he and his brother has this small business that requires a lot of travel and could really make use of the unlimited thing.

I would say this is one those cleaver ways of saving money, and the best thing about NET10 is that it is a no contract mobile phone service, so you will not be charge for anything at all if you wish to downgrade into a lower monthly plan, or switch to a pay as you go. No need to fill up loads of forms when you join in, just buy your desired NET10 phone and have it activated, then register and get a refill and you can start using it start using it,  more like a pay as you go, but a lot better when it comes to services. Anyway, you can get more information on this see the Light video as well as this a really cute NET10 commercial from NET10 to brighten up your day!

Here is a testimonial video of a real NET10 customer :

Things you should check when buying baby foods

It can be useful to have a few jars, tins or packets of baby foods in the cupboard, but don't let them replace home-made foods altogether. If you buy baby foods, these are the things you should check:

• Check the “use by” and “best before” dates.

• Check the seal on the cans and jars haven’t been broken.

• Read the instructions carefully about how to prepare the food.

• Avoid these foods before 6 months: wheat-based foods which contain gluten, nuts, seeds, liver, eggs, and fish- check the label for these.

• Choose foods which state they do not contain added sugar.

• If your family has eczema, hay fever or allergies to food, do not use peanut butter.

Review: Girls Deluxe Toy Story 3 Jessie Costume for Halloween

It is now 2 months to Halloween, and I already got the perfect trick or treat costume for my little girl! I got her a Jessie toy story costume from WholesaleCostumeClub.com and I think this is so far the best priced Jessie costume I have seen online. The main reason I got this costume for my little girl is that she is a huge fan of Toy Story film and I know she would be happy with it, and I was right! I showed it to her when I got it and I can see her face full of excitement! I had to be honest the costume is fair enough when it comes to quality, price, and durability. The costume is an officially licensed Disney Toy Story costume; it is a jumpsuit with a silky satin feel made of thin light breathable polyester material. The belt as well as both cuffs are attached to the jumpsuit, so no matter how active a child is during Halloween, you are rest assured that no bits and pieces will fall out of it.

There are also some details like fringes on the cuffs and legs, as well as the printed champs on the legs were all carried out nicely on the costume. Plus, it also came with a lovely red hat made of some sort of Styrofoam with a white stitch trim made of the same material and a yellow bow for the hair, just like what Jessie the cowgirl got in the Toy Story film. As far as pricing is concerned, this Deluxe Toy Story 3 Jessie Costume does not cost a lot! In fact from the website where I got it, it only cost $31.96 plus $4.99 shipping which is the cheapest one I have seen online! I honestly did not bother to find it in the high street as I know for the fact that most of the girls Halloween costumes like this would cost twice as much as on the internet. Anyway, the costume is recognizable as Jessie the cowgirl from the toy story film and I have a very happy little girl here who does look stunning on this costume!

Here are some photos of the said Deluxe Toy Story 3 Jessie Costume:

Fruit and vegetables for toddlers

Fruit and vegetables contain lots of vitamins, minerals and fibre. They could even liven up your child's meal with their variety of colours, textures and favours that is why it is recommended by doctors and other health professionals, that parents should introduce lots of different types from an early age whether fresh, frozen, canned, or dried, it does not really matter! Just try to ensure that your child have fruit and vegetables regularly.

Different fruit and vegetables contains different vitamins and minerals, so the wider range your toddler eats the better. But do not worry if your child will only eat one or two types. He or she will learn to like them by having small taste frequently.

List of Rental Properties in Calgary Canada

For whatever type of property you are looking for, I suggest that you check out www.rentcalgary.com. This website is one of the best online rental properties I have seen and it only caters specifically to the beautiful city of Calgary Canada. Now, what makes this property rental special? Well as a person who currently is looking for a property to rent, I have noticed that this particular website has ticked everything I want to find out in renting a property and it has made my search a lot easier. Well to give you an idea of how it goes, they got a map of Calgary and next to it you will see the names of towns.

So, you can either click on the map to choose your desired location or click on the specific name of town. After that, you will see lists of properties for rent on the area, with their photos, description and price per calendar month. So all you have to do is browse down your mouse and look at the photos and description. You can click on the title of the property, if you found ones that interest you, and then check the details carefully.

You can also view the availability of the place, name and contact number of the agent or maybe the owner, additional features of the property along with the appliances that would come with it. Absolutely brilliant! Tell you, this is a lot easier than reading the classified ads on the newspaper and it would not cost you anything to have a look, so give it a go, you might find it useful as well!

How much milk does a toddler needs?

This is what I noticed with my little girl, at the age of 1 she starts to drink less milk as already is eating solid foods like vegetables, cooked meats, noodles, and some finger foods which does keep her full most of the day. I did worry for a bit, but when I started to switch her milk to a toddler’s milk, it does have a label at the back that says after 12 months it is recommended that a child drinks around 500ml of milk per day. So usually that would be around 2 to 3 servings of milk in a day. If you are still worried, cheese can also be a good alternative. Hope this helps.

Cup or beaker: Which one is best for toddlers?

Ever wonder which one is best for your child? Is it a cup or a beaker? Well, I did ask the same question to a health visitor, the nurse that was assigned to come and check my baby’s health and development every month and I got this information from her.

A free flow lidded beaker is better than a bottle or beaker with teat, for the reason that drinks flow very slowly through a teat and drinking can take a long time. This means your child spends a lot of time with teat on the mouth which may delay speech development and damage his or her teeth, especially if your child is drinking sweetened milk. It is also advisable to move on from a lidded beaker to drinking from a cup as soon as your child is ready. A non-spill or valve cups are not recommended as they encourage longer drinking times, so use a lidded free flow cups instead, so your toddler will learn to sip.

Whether its cups or college, the more you know, the better off you'll be. Classes through early childhood education online degree would be beneficial to any family.

Tips to stay safe online from scams and Identity fraud

These are just some tips I gathered from several government website as of how to stay safe online and protect you from identity fraud as I have noticed that lately there has been an increase of email scams that would lead to identity fraud.

• delete suspicious-looking emails without opening them
•If you opened an email, Do not open any attachments. Attachments may contain malicious code that will infect your computer.
• Do not click on any links.
• keep a good firewall on your home computer
• don't use the same password on all websites
• refuse to give personal information to any company that emails or calls you unexpectedly
• keep your credit card within view when paying at restaurants or shops
• don't respond to emails that seem to be from your bank asking you to 're-enter' your personal details; your bank will not ask you to do that
• don't buy online unless you see the golden padlock on the payments page, and a web address beginning with 'https'
• install all security updates and 'patches' offered by your computer software company.

Other drinks that are not suitable for babies and young children

Citrus fruit juices- such as orange juice or grapefruit juice, are not a good source of vitamin C, but also contain naturally present sugars which can cause tooth decay. They are acidic too, so it should not be given to babies under 6 months of age.

Squashes, fizzy drinks, flavored milk and juice drinks- filling up on too much of these drinks can cause poor appetite, poor weight gain and in toddlers loose stools. These are unsuitable for young babies. If you want to give squashes, flavored milk, and juices drinks keep them for mealtime in a feeder cup and make sure all juices are diluted well. Fizzy drinks are very acidic and can damage a toddler’s tooth enamel and most health professionals do not recommend fizzy drinks to toddlers. I am a mother and honestly I sometimes give fizzy drinks to my 3 year old, but I think moderation is always the best way.

Baby and herbal drinks- these are also not recommended as advised by a health visitor as they contain sugars and their use is not recommended.

Tea and coffee- not suitable for babies and young children as they can reduce iron absorption and if sugar is added it could contribute tooth decay.

Get to know Thailand and the beauty of silk at VIE Hotel Bangkok

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Syndacast for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

A good friend of mine has just got back from a holiday in Thailand and she was telling me about how wonderful her experience was on the entire holiday. It was her first time to visit Thailand and I was glad that she had such a wonderful time as I did recommend Thailand to her as one of Asia’s best travel destination! I have been there 3 years ago with my family and I just love everything about Thailand, from the glorious weather, beautiful people, stunning scenery and temples, like The Grand Palace and the Temple of Wat Phra Kaeo to the tasty Thai cuisine. Everything is just worth coming back!

Anyway, this friend of mine has mentioned something that I missed when I was last there, the tour to Thailand’s famous silk house! I heard so much about it from my friend that on my next holiday in a couple of months I intend to go there with my family. Did all my research as of where to go, what to do, and found this lovely place to stay called The VIE Hotel Bangkok.  The hotel itself looks superb and currently has a remarkable package deal which includes a tour to the famous Jim Thompson House - the Thai silk house in Bangkok.

The package includes a silky consultant, grand breakfast at VIE Wine and Grill, complementary day pass for the sky train, a lovely deluxe room and deluxe suit accommodation with 2 garments per day laundry or dry cleaning service and best of all, 2 complementary luxurious VIE silky cushion covers! Aside from this, they are also giving away discounts on laundry, dry cleaning and on the food and beverages services! The hotel itself has free wifi Internet access at the VIE lounge but can also get this in the hotel room from just 250 Baht each day. This package has actually caught my attention and I think it is the best deal they have so far! So, if this has got your interest too, please visit the VIE Hotel website.

Types of milk that is not suitable for babies and young children

For under 1 year old:

Whole cows’ milk- is not suitable as a main drink until your baby is one year old. The reason for this as I was told by a health visitor is that it does not contain sufficient iron and other nutrients to the baby’s needs.

Goats’ and sheep’s milk and milk based on rice or oats- these are also not suitable for under 1 year old as they do not contain much iron and other nutrients to keep a baby healthy. Providing they are pasteurised, they can be use once a baby is one year old.

For under 2 years old:

Simi-skimmed milk- is not suitable for children under 2, but can be introduced from 2 years if a child is a good eater and has a varied diet. The main reason for this is that there is less fat, calories and vitamin A found in Simi-skimmed milk.

Under 5 years old:

Skimmed milk- is not suitable for children under 5 because, because toddlers need lots of energy from the food they eat, and skimmed milk has less in it.

Recommended toddlers book

My 3 year old Chloe received a Topsy and Tim Collection book from her aunt, and she loved it! The book itself has so many interesting adventures and my daughter can visualize herself as Topsy because most of the story has actually been done and experience by my little one, like Camping, going to the dentist, swimming, at the farm, going in an airplane, birthday party, going to the zoo, on a train, going to the doctor and even going green which has something to do with recycling which is what she often see when I am sorting out cans, papers, old clothes and so on. The book illustrations are good, and the stories are simple yet fun, that even I love reading it to her every night. She does like books and got some other collections like Disney fairytales stories and some animals’ story but these Topsy and Tim books are her favourite. Well what can I say, my daughter and I love these books and would recommend it to other children, I think from age 2 and up.

Startup capital with Angel Investors

If you are a business owner who is looking for ways to fund your business that is moving into high growth or seeking for a start–up capital, then I think you should consider getting help from an angel investor. Now what does these angel investors do? Angel investor provide capital for business, in exchange they get stocks or bonds from the company they helped fund which is fair enough considering that they give a fairly big amount to fund a business!

Now there are a couple of good reasons why I think this is good for your business, aside from providing you the fund, they can also participate in developing it! Based on what I know, angel investors are former business owners themselves so they can give advice and be a mentor, introduce you to a large network of contacts, and even expand your clients by promoting your business using their connections in the business world! I think this is a wiser choice compared to a venture capitalist as these investors take a lot of time in evaluation of funding and is more complex compare to angels. A venture capitalist would also require a company to form a board of directors, this way it could alter or totally change your company’s whole set up! Like I said this is more complex and more selective when it comes to investing towards a company so there is a high risk that your fund request may be turn down by a venture capitalist.

If somehow you decide to get an angel investor to fund your business you can easily hook up with them on websites that matches entrepreneurs and angel investors. Otherwise you can also check more Angel investor information online or ask friends and families with regards to getting business funds from angel investors. Remember, it is your decision and your business future to look up to, so choose wisely!

Wal-Itin Tablets Recommended Hay Fever Treatment

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I started to suffer from hay fever about 4 years ago and it usually gets worst around spring and summertime when the spores and pollen level is high which will then give me a flu-like symptoms cause by allergic reaction. I hate the hay fever, and knowing that it cannot be cured completely; I just make sure that I got the right treatment for the symptoms! Now, over the years I have tried different brands of antihistamine products and I seem to like this Wal-Itin non-drowsy allergy tablet from Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products. Why? Well, it is due to the following reasons:

•           It does not make me drowsy.

•           It is a lot cheaper than the other national brands, yet works just the same.

•           I get 3x more tablets quantity for the same amount paid on other brands.

•           It is made by the trusted Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products.

As far as I know, Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products are a great value, allowing families and individuals to save money without sacrificing quality or trust. With the rising cost of health care, saving money on over-the-counter medications can really benefit a family’s budget. Aside from the fact that Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products are really affordable, their products are also highly recommended by pharmacist. Most have the same ingredients used as the other national brands and offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so why pay more? How much food does Toddlers need?

I have learned this based on experience that using common sense is a good guide on how big a potion should be! Children’s appetite varies enormously, so the best thing to do is not to force them to eat when they no longer wish to, but do not refuse to give more if they really are hungry. As long as your child eats a range of foods, just try not to be concerned about the amount your child’s eats.

Children’s safety in the sun

It is almost summertime and hopefully would be getting a lot of sunshine this year, so I am sharing some tips here on keeping children safe in the sun when on a day out, picnic, on the beach, kayaking and some other summer time family fun activities. Here are those tips:

• Keep your child out of the sun between 11 and 3pm when the sun is highest and most dangerous.

• Keep babies under 6 months of age out of the sun altogether.

• Make the most of shades, like picnicking under a tree, on the beach with a little tent or a beach umbrella.

• Don’t let children run around all day in a swimsuit or without any clothes on.

• Cover your child up in a loose baggy cotton clothes such as oversized t-shirts with sleeves.

• In particular, protect your child’s shoulders, neck, and back of the neck when they are playing as these are the most common areas for sunburn.

• Let your child wear a legionnaire’s hat or a floppy hat with a wide brim that shades the face and neck.

Helping your child make friends

Learning how to make friends is one of the most important things your child will do, because if your child’s learns early on how to get on well with others, he or she will get off to a better start school, and a happy child learn better than a child who is anxious and afraid of others. They said it is never too late to start, especially when your child is the only child like mine. So here are some things you can do to help your baby or child socialize and make friends with other babies or children:

• As soon as your baby starts to crawl or walk, you could try a parent and toddler group. These can be great for energetic children from 18 month to 3 years and this would also give you a bit of relaxation and company.

• Try to join your child in some playgroups, nursery school or day nurseries as they all have a lot to offer like more organized playoff different kinds, the chance to be with other children and make friends and probably a space to run around in.

• Go to a family gathering, as she or he can play with cousins and other younger members of the family.

• Parties- such as birthdays would also help your child make friends and play with other little children.

• Take him or her to a playground and let him or her run around with all the other children but never take your eye off your child in a big area such as playgrounds and parks.

Well, these are just something’s I could think of and you might as well have other ideas, so I suggest you do what you think is the best for your child.
